Keep Learning All Summer Long!

Posted Date: 6/10/25 (5:21 PM)

Dear School Community,
As summer draws near, we’re all looking forward to a well-earned break—a chance to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. Summer offers the perfect opportunity to unwind, try new hobbies, and enjoy exciting adventures. While we hope everyone takes full advantage of the downtime, it’s also a great time to keep academic skills sharp and learning on track.
We encourage families to find a healthy balance between rest and academic engagement. Here are a few ways TUPS students can stay connected to learning over the summer:
  • Explore our Summer Learning Activities
Students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade can take part in optional activities created by our teachers. These are not required, but they are strongly encouraged to help students retain important skills and feel confident heading into the new school year. You can find the materials here and on our district website.
  • Join the Union Public Library Summer Reading Challenge
This year’s theme is “Color Our World”. We invite students to participate and dive into great books all summer long! Learn more about the program here. Need book ideas? Check out our school librarian recommendations!
  • Be part of the TUPS Summer Share!
Share your summer learning adventures on social media! Post photos using #WeareproudofU and tag us to show us what you’re up to—whether it’s reading, exploring, creating, or anything in between.
These fun and flexible opportunities will help keep young minds active and ready for the year ahead. Thank you for supporting your child’s learning journey, even in the summer months.

Wishing you all a joyful, relaxing, and enriching summer!
